"I played the WrestlinGame with Aaron's three year old daughter after a weekend clinic in The WrestlinGame is a training device that provides participants with the option of minimal contact for the Physical Education environment or full contact for the wrestling room. Daniel Coyle (Author of the New York Times bestseller Lance Armstrong’s War) describes the importance of deep practice in his book “The Talent Code”. The WrestlinGame is an application that allows coaches and physical educators to breakdown set-ups, offense, and finishes associated with the sport of wrestling while focusing on gross and fine motor movements, agility, coordination, and explosive speed; all necessary components for the aspiring wrestler.
The idea behind the WrestlinGame is not to teach one area of wrestling at a time, but rather to play the game and through deep practice and regular correction and supplementation, add to the nature of what is being taught. An introductory level game may consist of a "protect your flags while you try to steal mine approach." Over time, the instructor would supplement by having the student keep their elbows in, add a set-up, correct stance, improve upon movement, introduce level changing, improve upon sprawling and reshots, introduce fakes and misdirection, etc.

The WrestlinGame was recently spotlighted at the State Conference for the Massachusetts Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. National AAHPERD Standards 1 through 6 are addressed as students demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as applied to the learning and performance of Amateur Wrestling in a fun and socially responsible manner within the Physical Education forum.
